The Arena Group — the media company behind TheStreet, Parade, and Men's Journal — is ditching its name and rebranding as Paradium.AI, positioning itself as a publicly traded AI company in a move timed to coincide with its Q2 2025 earnings release. CEO Paul Edmondson announced the change in an internal memo titled 'Today we go All In,' framing it as a transformation into a tech-centric leader in media, data, and commerce powered by artificial intelligence.
The timing is striking given the financial backdrop. Second-quarter revenue cratered 51% year-over-year to just $22.2 million, and income from continuing operations swung from a $12.4 million profit to a $200,000 loss in the same period. The company's stock has shed roughly 48% of its value in 2025 — though it briefly popped about 7% on the rebrand news before giving back much of that gain by the close.
The rebrand includes integrating an acquisition called Info Sentience and the launch of a new product called Cutter Studio, which Edmondson described as building a unified AI-powered ecosystem. The new company name is also a URL — Paradium.AI — though as of Monday afternoon it simply redirected to the old Arena Group website.
The pivot mirrors moves by other struggling digital media players. BuzzFeed has similarly leaned into AI as referral traffic from search engines and social platforms has broadly dried up across the industry. Larger information companies like Thomson Reuters and News Corp. have more successfully woven AI and data analytics into diversified business models that extend well beyond traditional publishing — a benchmark Paradium.AI is now explicitly chasing.
