How the Child Left the Play Area

At an inquest hearing in Ipswich, evidence emerged detailing exactly how Noah left the supervised play area. Detective Chief Inspector Matt Connick from Suffolk Police testified that CCTV footage showed Noah had been under the care of a relative at the playground as part of a normal routine. The child exited through a gap in the fence into an adjoining memorial garden, then left that space through an open gate. He subsequently ran down a path on a nearby new housing estate toward Decoy Pond. The relative who was watching him immediately noticed his departure and attempted to catch up, shouting at Noah, but the child went out of sight shortly after. The child was undergoing assessment for autism but had not received a diagnosis.
